The modern football originated in Britain and then it swept every corner of the world. As the rapid development of football, the international competition came into exist. On the Olympic Games held in Athens in 1896, the football was listed as an official event. At that time, Denmark defeated Greece with 9:0 and became the first Olympic champion of soccer. Since the Olympics do not allow professional athletes, the football was no longer sustainable on the Amsterdam Olympic Games in 1928.

Once after the Olympic Games of 1928, FIFA held a meeting of representatives and unanimously adopted a resolution to hold the quadrennial world championship. This promoted the further development and improvement of the world’s football. Initially, the new football competition was known as the “World Football Championship”. In 1956, FIFA decided to change this name into “Jules Rimet Cup” at the meeting in Luxembourg. This was in recognition of Frenchman Jules Rimet, former FIFA president’s contribution to the football. Later, someone suggested to link the two names together and called it “World Soccer Championship – Jules Rimet Cup”. Thus, at the Helsinki meeting, it was changed into “World Football Championship – Jules Rimet Cup”.

While talking about the World Cup, we should never neglect our gold and holy Jules Rimet Cup. Besides, there was an additional requirement: who could win the world champion three times could host this cup forever.

In 1970 and on the ninth World Cup, Uruguay, Italy, and Brazil all had won two titles, so they all had the change to occupy this opportunity. The result was finally that Brazil laughed at the end.
